Understanding the Ad Placement Heatmap
Your Personalized Ad Layout Guide
The Ad Placement Heatmap appears in your scan results and shows a visual map of where to place ads on your pages for maximum viewability and revenue. It analyzes your actual page structure — not generic advice.
Reading the Heatmap
The visual diagram shows your page layout with color-coded ad zones:
- Hot Zone (red): Highest viewability (80%+). Implement these placements first — they generate the most revenue per impression.
- Warm Zone (yellow): Good viewability (60-80%). Valuable secondary placements for longer content.
- Cold Zone (blue): Lower viewability (under 60%). Use these only if your content is long enough to justify additional ads.
Zone Cards
Below the diagram, each zone gets a detailed card showing: the recommended ad format (e.g., 728x90 Leaderboard), the specific placement description, a viewability estimate percentage with a visual bar, and a reason explaining why that zone performs the way it does for your site.
Content Length Matters
The heatmap adapts based on your content's paragraph count. Short content (under 3 paragraphs) won't show in-content ad zones because there isn't enough content to support them without violating ad density guidelines. Longer content unlocks additional hot and warm zones.
